Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do between visits?

Basic maintenance such as skimming, brushing, and cleaning out your skimmer basket helps maintain pool conditions. We also recommend monitoring your equipment and water conditions. If you see something unusual, let us know as soon as possible.

Can pets swim in the pool?

Yes, pets can safely swim in properly balanced pool water. However, pet hair and organic debris increase chlorine demand, which may require additional chemical adjustments during regular maintenance visits. Pet hair can also clog filters quickly.

What happens after major storms?

Severe storms can introduce debris, dilute chemicals, and disrupt water balance. Pool Force One offers hurricane cleanup services designed to remove debris, restore filtration, and rebalance water chemistry after major weather events.

Is crystal clear water guaranteed?

Pool Force One guarantees professional service and proper chemical balancing during scheduled visits. However, weather, equipment performance, swimmer usage, and environmental debris can temporarily impact water clarity between services.

Why does my pool look cloudy?

Cloudy pool water is usually caused by low sanitizer levels, poor filtration, heavy swimmer use, or environmental debris entering the pool. Proper chemical balance and consistent filtration normally restore clarity quickly.

Will my pool plumbing be labeled?

At the service member’s request, Pool Force One can label pool plumbing, valves, and equipment to help clearly identify how the circulation system operates. Proper labeling helps simplify troubleshooting and makes water flow easier to understand.

What is the green to clean service?

Green-to-Clean is an intensive treatment used to restore pools affected by algae or severe chemical imbalance. The process includes chemical treatments, filtration support, debris removal, and monitoring to safely return the water to swim-ready condition.

How long does green to clean take?

Recovery time depends on algae severity, filtration performance, and environmental conditions. Many pools begin clearing within 5–7 days, though full recovery may require additional treatments to completely remove algae and rebalance the water.

Why is filter cleaning important?

The pool filter removes debris, oils, and contaminants from the water. When filters become clogged, water circulation decreases and sanitizer becomes less effective. Regular filter maintenance is essential for maintaining clear and healthy pool water.

How often should filters be cleaned?

In Southwest Florida, we recommend cleaning pool filters about once per month. Only our Premium plan includes monthly filter cleaning, so service members on Essential and Complete plans are expected to clean their filters during months when we do not.

When should salt cells be cleaned?

Salt chlorine generator cells should be inspected every three months and cleaned only when calcium buildup appears. Excessive cleaning can shorten the lifespan of the cell, so professional inspection helps determine when cleaning is necessary.

How does rain affect pool water?

Rainwater dilutes pool chemicals and can introduce debris or contaminants. Heavy rainfall may lower sanitizer levels and shift pH balance, which is why regular weekly service is important to restore proper water chemistry.

What services do you offer?

Pool Force One provides structured weekly pool maintenance through our Essential, Complete, and Premium service plans. We also offer algae recovery services (Green-to-Clean), salt cell inspections and cleaning, and deep filter cleaning services.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple. Contact Pool Force One through our website or by phone and we will review your pool size, equipment, and service needs. Once a plan is selected, you can create your service account and schedule your first visit.

How is Pool Force One different?

Pool Force One focuses on consistent weekly service, professional water chemistry management, and clear communication with service members. Our goal is to protect your pool equipment while keeping your pool clean, balanced, and swim-ready year-round.

How often do pools need service?

In Southwest Florida, weekly service is the industry standard due to high temperatures, frequent rain, and environmental debris. Regular weekly maintenance helps maintain water chemistry, prevent algae growth, and ensure proper filtration.

What is included in weekly service?

Each visit includes water testing, chemical balancing, surface skimming, brushing pool surfaces, and visual inspection of equipment. Vacuuming and filter cleaning schedules depend on the service plan selected and the specific needs of your pool.

Do you service salt and chlorine pools?

Yes. Pool Force One services both traditional liquid chlorine pools and saltwater pools. Each system requires slightly different chemical monitoring and equipment inspection to maintain proper sanitizer levels and balanced water chemistry.

How long should my pool pump run each day?

In warm climates like Southwest Florida, most residential pools should run their pump 8–12 hours per day depending on pool size, equipment efficiency, and environmental exposure. Proper circulation helps distribute chemicals evenly and allows the filter to remove debris and contaminants from the water.

What causes algae in swimming pools?

Algae typically develops when sanitizer levels drop too low, circulation becomes restricted, or environmental debris introduces nutrients into the water. High temperatures, rain, heavy swimmer use, and poor filtration can all contribute to algae growth if water chemistry is not properly maintained.

Why does chlorine disappear so quickly?

Chlorine levels can drop quickly due to sunlight exposure, heavy swimmer usage, rain dilution, organic debris, pets in the pool, or improper stabilizer levels. Maintaining balanced chemistry and consistent filtration helps ensure chlorine remains effective between service visits.
